David Cameroon's promise to curb immigration was a 'big deception', Boris
Cameron's promise to curb immigration was a 'big deception', Boris Johnson claims with fresh plea to leave EU without controls
Cameron pledged Tories would cut net migration to the 'tens of thousands'
But EU rules mean it is not possible to turn away people from member states
More than 200,000 more arrived than left last year, mostly from the EU
London Mayor also blasts Tony Blair for opening doors to Poland in 2004
Without the 'right solution' he would back Britain leaving the EU entirely

The mainstream politicians will only begin to address the immigration problem when those that control them let them.

I really like it when you hand your arse to me on a plate like that.

In 2013-2014, declared tax receipts were £489,850 (bn, I believe), while in 2007-2008, the previous peak you were referring too, they stood at £439,095. There was a collapse the following year due to the biggest banking crisis the world has ever known, but since then tax revenues have been growing steadily yoy to these record levels.

That is the real picture, despite the fact that right-wing populists like yourself have been spreading black disinformation the whole time, sowing false visions of toxic gloom there where the recession has hit hardest in an attempt to scapegoat hard-working immigrants for the lack of investment and employment largely caused by the policies of the corporations you represent.

Your type make me sick.

Oh, and here is my source

France has enough problems
I've driven through France (and back) three times in the last few weeks , there are loads of caravans plotted up in fields

The area over the bridge from the stade de France is like Algeria

The Lyon ring road has campsites all around it

Marseille is almost a no go area

Cannes is ok tho

The real problem is Britain hands out freebies to all and sundry and immigration is only an issue because we all see evidence of having our taxes ripped off.

What is needed is better administration so that immigrants don't actually benefit until they have contributed large amounts into the system as in other European countries like France.

Most immigrants travel through France to get to Britain. Why?

Because their health and benefit system is entirely contributory. That and their civil servants and medical admittance staff aren't automatically labelled racists for saying no to immigrants by the politically correct brigade and mass media.

That's also why full Burkas are not allowed in public in France but they are in England but that's an aside...

Solve these administrative problems by making our benefit and health system only available to those that contribute as in France and other European countries and immigration will take care of itself...

How can any European expect to simply walk into Britain and hope to integrate with our healthy and thriving diversity of culture of Britain?

It's simply madness to expect these primitive "Euro-pigs" to integrate and fit into our society.

Have you ever seen a decent Polish gangsta-rapper or an Italian sportsman let alone a German doctor with genuine certification?
Of course not their education standards and religious background from their backward nations won't allow it.

Only Africans and Indians can ever hope to be truly British, Europeans simply aren't civilised enough to fit in any healthy society nor do they have any sort of work ethic to rival our economy boosting culturally enriching ethnic immigrants.

H&P

If 'the last time you checked' tax revenues were healthy then you haven't checked for at least 6 years.

One of the key issues today is that all this GDP growth and job creation is not translating into tax revenues, for the obvious reason that the majority of the new jobs are low paid.

We are going to run another deficit of over £100bn this year, the fifth in a row.

Those IMF figures sound decent when most of the developed world is either in recession or on the brink. UK growth is already forecast to slow as Germany is heading for recession. When Germany sneezes in Europe everyone catches a cold.

We should be more concerned at our massive debt figures, which are out of control thanks to Labour. The government is desperate for cash and selling off Eurostar for 10bn, and is only half way through their public sector cutbacks and have another 5 years of austerity cutbacks coming, that won't do much for growth.

The IMF said last week that the British economy will be the fastest growing in the developed world this year.

Iron2010, unskilled labour is the problem. Not surprising really when we just let anyone unskilled in, many unable to speak English,

This is from 2010, with figures from 2008, but it is relevant as Poland joined the EU in 2004 and provides an indication of Blairs and Browns open door policy of allowing any unskilled person in unlike Germany and others and why we are so unproductive today.

Eurostat figures say that in 2008 the United Kingdom grew because of net migration by 226,400.

European Parliament order France to suspend expulsion of Roma Gypsies - but French immigration minister defiant.

Germany, which no longer accepts unskilled migrants and which declined to accept Eastern European workers when Poland and other countries joined the EU, had negative net migration.
That meant that 53,600 more people left the country to live abroad than arrived.

France, which experienced a brief immigration boom in 2007, cut back net immigration to 77,000.

A better indicator of productivity might be discount and interest rates, especially on public borrowing. Also currency rates.

See, the money markets don't have no agenda other than money.

"the increased supply of labour that is generally cheaper and more productive is paid in this country.

We are the most unproductive in the G7, bar Japan and have been for many years?

The ONS said this month that output per hour worked in Britain was 29% lower than in the US and 24% lower than in Germany and France. Canada and Italy had slightly higher productivity than the UK and only one G7 nation Japan had a worse record.

There are many problems with the way we police immigration and the benefit system but they are not a reason to leave the EU. People simply need to do their jobs properly.

When I can over two years ago I was simply gobsmacked by how efficient the London public transport system had become.

On what it was in the 1980s, it amounts to nothing short of a massive, positive revolution.

What infrastructure are you referring to Chao5?

I don't know Hermit but it's certainly a huge factor in us over taking France as the EU's second largest economy in the near future.

By the way, just to make my position clear, I am not against immigration, or against Eastern Europeans.

Like most, if people come here and work hard, do not commit crime and do not cause trouble then I am happy with that. It doesn't bother me whether you are a white Slovakian or a Pakistani - the same principles apply.

What I have a problem with is the numbers. I think the sheer mass of migrants is too much. I don't think we have the infrastructure to cope, the public services are at breaking point, unemployment is still a huge issue and I don't think its good for societal cohesion.

I believe in a continuous stream of inward and outgoing migration, but it needs to be controlled. It needs to be controlled and assessed as to whether we can cope.
